Estepona Is For Dog Lovers

There's a lot to love about Estepona: warm, clean beaches, beautiful old town, modern facilities, incredible's a great place to live, work, or retire. It's also a great place to have dogs and here's why:

  • The entirety of Estepona's beachfront includes a beautiful, newly-built and/or refurbished paseo with ample space for a leisurely walk with your dog in the Spanish sun. Get up early to watch the sun rise over the pristine Mediterranean sea, take a afternoon stroll knowing there's plenty of benches and water fountains to keep you and your dog rested and refreshed, or safely stroll at night with lit pathways and warm breezes. From literally one end of town to the other, Estepona's wide promenade is a dog-walker's dream!

  • You can let your dog run, play, and socialise to their canine heart's content in one of the several off-lead dog parks throughout Estepona. On the west end of town you'll find a fully-fenced dog park complete with hoops and tunnels in the Las Mesas area and in the east end of town, there's the ever-popular Playa del Angel beach and park. It's not fenced, but going off-lead is well-established by the many dog lovers who bring their pups there on a regular basis.

  • Make sure you double-check ahead of time, of course, but many cafes, beach bars, and even restaurants throughout Estepona are happy to have a well-behaved dog join you on their outdoor terrace. And if you have errands to run in town, plenty of local supermarkets, pharmacies, bakeries and other shops will have outdoor space to leave you dog for a minute or two while you pop into a shop to get things done.

  • You can spend an afternoon at the beach with your dog no problem. The Piedra Paloma Beach just outside Estepona is the official “dog beach” of the area, but almost all the beaches in Estepona are, for the most part, dog friendly, with no general fuss made as long as your dog is well-behaved and cleaned up after. You should be aware that during the summer season, there's a total no-dog mandate in place for Estepona beaches, but it's too hot to take your dog to the beach then, anyway!

  • If the beach is a no-go, there's always plenty of Estepona countryside that dog lovers and their fur babies love strolling through. Nothing beats a shady walk through the campo or by the river on a hot Estepona day!

  • Paws Doggy Daycare in Estepona is one of the best dog centre's around, giving your dog a fun and stimulating place to play, relax, and socialise. Daily or occasional pet sitting is available completely dependant on you and your dogs' needs and schedules, as is overnight boarding at our just like home dog hotel. We have a huge, fully-fenced, 100% safe and secure made-for-dogs place in the Estepona countryside full of dog lovers who treat every dog at Paws as if it were their own so you can relax knowing your fur baby is in good hands.
